Decisions decisions, I decided today would be the day that I let you all have a very sneaky look inside our new version of the software code named Project Oracle. Now before you all start emailing in asking for more details, at this moment I won’t say anything else apart from watch this space. We are working very hard behind the scenes, not only on bringing you new features for the current FL Software but also we are working on every single component of Oracle in the finest of details. It’s going to be an entertaining road ahead but it will be a road worth taking, I’m sure of that. Now for a sentimental moment, it’s actually one year to the day that I first sat down to plan the current version of the software with the team. If I had only known I would have spent my time trying to re-start the DeLorean in the garage, fitted a new Flux Capacitor and saved myself a great deal of time and effort in the process.
Firstly let me tell you about the new features which will be ready for all FL Software members to update on Monday 18th October. All you need to do is click the Update button within the software module, (underneath the Ratings button) and you will receive the latest updated version in seconds.
The latest features we have introduced are to make life slightly simpler and to help with the form reading in certain areas of the software. Depending on how you use the software to meet your own requirements will determine how important these updates are to you on a daily basis.

Overview Menu – Additional column showing horses + or - Weight in relation to its last race
Overview Menu – Horses DSLR has also been added to save you clicking back to the main ratings screen when checking a horses fitness.
Main Ratings – Horses Age has been added to the main ratings section.
Warning Error Message – To let you know that the ratings are not available for download at present.
Log In Details – We have added a Password saver box during the log in process to save you having to enter your details every time.

Thanks for the comment Neil, what we mean by cloud based is that we are using Microsoft’s silverlight technology and it is super flexible and the future of a lot of software so it will eliminate all of the download and running problems but will also be very flexible and customizable for the user. Hi Bob, this will be available in 2011 we have our current version of the software but project oracle will be built on the new silverlight platform with some amazing additions but don’t worry I’ll keep you posted and the I will re-open the current version for my list subscribers only next week …
